This upgrade for the FS2000 Trees Library performs two functions:

  - It upgrades Library Module 0 to a new 'Release 2' standard. The new
standard has improved coding for the Trees library objects with better
3D effects etc. Only the library BGL is changed - the texture files
are not affected. (Note that the objects in the new BGL are NOT
compatible with the pre-upgrade Release 1 SDK - you must upgrade the
SDK as well using the rest of this 'Release 2 Upgrade'.

  - It completely replaces the SDK with a Release 2 version compatible
with the modified Release 2 Library Modules. The new SDK also has
improved documentation and now includes SCM versions of the macros for
the benefit of ASD 2.1 users.

The upgrade is NOT useable by itself. You MUST download and install
Release 1 of Library Module 0 first - you will find it in various libraries
on the internet as TREES_0.ZIP. You do not, however, require Release 1 of
the SDK (TREE_SDK.ZIP) as that is completely replaced by this upgrade.

Please read INSTALL.TXT for installation instructions.

You will then want to read MANUAL.TXT from the new documentation set ...

The fully installed and upgraded kit will once again enable the creation
of stunning scenery with highly realistic trees and amazing seasonal
effects. Alaska bush scenery fans will particularly appreciate the 'hard
winter' snow effects, for example. The kit uses techniques new to
FS2000/CFS and represents a considerable advance on trees in scenery
created with the previously available tools and macros. For this who
have already tried Release 1, most of the changes are subtle and hidden
from view, but you will find that the new 'Trees' objects are even more
realistic in appearance than the previous ones.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
===============

Thanks are due to many supporters of our flight-simming hobby, much of
whose work has contributed to this project. They include :-

Microsoft Corp. for FS2000 (c) ... a really big, and much appreciated, step
towards "as real as it gets", and for the release of a very useful and
informative Scenery SDK. It gets better all the time, guys, thanks.

Everybody always forgets to thank poor old Microsoft, but they are the
                         creators of our hobby!.

Manfred Moldenhauer for his SCASM compiler (c), the latest Freeware release
of which can be downloaded from the new web site at
                           http://www.scasm.com
Without Manfred, our hobby would be virtually impossible

Tom Hiscox and co. for the latest versions of Airport (c), available from
                http://ourworld.cs.com/_ht_a/AirportSupport

Abacus for their superb Airport & Scenery Designer 2.1 (c). This is a
commercial product. More information is available at

Winfried Orthmann for his excellent BGLAnalyze decompiler tool, which
has helped to check and perfect the coding of the Trees objects.
Available as BGLANA10.ZIP from various internet file libraries.

Rafael Sanchez, a pioneer in the field of developing inventive design
tools for the average flight-simmer. Rafael influences us all, and he
was kind enough to make a helpful suggestion which has contributed to
the improvements in this Release 2 upgrade. Rafael's web site is at
                     http://flightsimmers.net/scenery

Thanks also to all those who are kind enough to e-mail me with their
comments and appreciation. Your kindness is all the reward I need for the
time I put into these projects.
